David Oakes, CSCI, MCT, MRT, RCMH

INSTRUCTOR
David has worked in the field of cleaning and restoration since 1973. He owned and operated a full-service cleaning and restoration firm for 42 years, which provided fire and water damage restoration services. David has worked on both commercial and residential restorative drying jobs in all capacities. He also does consulting for both insurance companies and restoration contractors. David is admitted as an expert witness in State and Federal Court.

David is an IICRC-Certified Senior Carpet Inspector, Master Cleaning Technician, Master Restoration Technician and is a Certified Restorer and Certified Mechanical Hygienist by the RIA. As an IICRC-approved instructor, he teaches the RSA Restorative Drying (WRT), Applied Structural Drying (ASD), Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCT), Odor Control Technician (OCT), Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT) and Trauma and Crime Scene Technician (TCST) courses. David was the Vice Chairman of the ANSI/S540 Trauma and Crime Scene Cleanup Standard and Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) Chairman for development of the TCST certification program.

INSTRUCTOR
Mark Raymond brings more than two decades of leadership and restoration experience to his role as an IICRC-approved instructor. Born in Pontiac, Michigan and raised in South Florida, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Business Management from the University of Florida. Mark began his career in discount retail, spending 20 years in retail management and ultimately serving as a store manager for Target in the Jacksonville, Florida area. He later transitioned into the restoration industry, where he advanced from marketing manager to general manager within a year.

In 2007, Mark purchased a restoration company in Gainesville, Florida, where he served as owner and president for nearly 17 years before selling the business in 2024. During that time, he also became an IICRC instructor and has now been teaching for nearly three years, instructing Water Restoration Technician (WRT) and Applied Structural Drying (ASD) courses both online and in person. Mark has taught classes nationwide and now focuses exclusively on IICRC instruction, valuing the opportunity to stay connected to the industry while helping prepare the next generation of restoration professionals for success.
