IICRC Classes

At Atex, we are proud to offer a variety of training classes approved by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). Whether you are new to the industry or renewing your Certified Technician title, we offer in-depth hands-on training to prepare you for the required exams, expand your knowledge and improve your on-the-job skills.   • Applied Structural Drying Technician (ASD) $949 | 4-Day Course

    This IICRC Applied Structural Drying (ASD) course is designed to teach the effective, efficient and timely drying of water-damaged structures and contents through classroom and hands-on training.

    Students will have the opportunity to:

    • Learn efficient methods for drying water-damaged structures
    • Develop decision-making strategies within a restorative drying environment
    • Use instruments, extraction systems, drying equipment and chemistry in hands-on flooded building environment

    Additional Information

    Students must have completed the IICRC Certification in WRT to enroll in this class.

    Students must bring their WRT certification number. It will be required for the payment slip that is submitted to IICRC.

    Each exam is $80 per student. Payment is required the day of the exam and can be made by credit card, check (payable to IICRC) or cash.

    After completing the course and passing the exam, you will receive a certificate of completion.

  • Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) $399 | 3-Day Course

    The IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) course is designed to provide restoration and remediation technicians a better understanding of water damage, including its causes, structural impact and proper drying techniques. Students will learn how to address water losses, sewer backflows and contamination such as mold.

    Students will have the opportunity to:

    • Learn profit-boosting practices, including how to dry structures more efficiently and with less labor
    • Reduce the risk of mold and secondary damage
    • Network with restoration professionals
    • Learn how to set your business apart from your competitors
    • Earn a certification that allows you to handle catastrophic jobs for most major insurance companies

  • Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT) $499 | 2-Day Course

    Focusing on technical procedure for successfully completing the restoration of a fire and smoke damaged environment, students of the Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician course will experience live hands-on use of instruments, extraction systems, drying equipment and chemistry in an actual smoke damaged environment.

    Course Goals

    • Learn and use the effective techniques to restore structure, contents and eliminate odor
    • Learn how to properly manage inventory/packouts
    • Learn other cleaning techniques including:

  • Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCT) $359 | 2-Day Course

    The Carpet Cleaning Technician course is designed to cover pre-inspection, fabric identification, basic cleaning chemicals and equipment and proper cleaning techniques and procedures with a residential and light commercial emphasis. Experiencing live, hands-on use of instruments, extraction systems, drying equipment and chemistry in an actual smoke damaged environment, students are taught the art and science of carpet cleaning to professional service providers, as well as others in related industries, the course emphasizes practical application.

    Participants will identify fiber, yarn and carpet constructions, style types and finishes, soiling conditions, cleaning science and methodology and other issues and concerns faced by individuals who maintain and clean installed broadloom carpet. When coupled with additional on-the-job training and field experience, students should be adequately prepared to perform carpet cleaning techniques and procedures.

    The Floor Care Technician course is an introductory level course in hard surface floor care. Topics covered include industry overview, health, safety and liability, floor covering materials, chemicals, tools and equipment, floor care principles and procedures, specialized floor care procedures, problem solving and troubleshooting, managing the floor care function and industry resources.

  • Trauma and Crime Scene Technician (TCST) $499 | 2-Day Course

    The Trauma and Crime Scene Technician course consists of the following components: principles of trauma and crime scene cleanup, safety and health, biocide and antimicrobial technology, administrative procedures, documentation and risk management, inspection and preliminary determination, equipment and tools, structural remediation, vehicle and machinery construction, contents remediation, containment and disposal of waste or sharps and confirmation of cleanliness.

    Course Goals

    • Learn how to properly evaluate, clean and decontaminate a site following a human trauma event
