The Extech MO290-EK: Energy Audit Kit enables moisture levels within different kinds of materials to be examined without actually penetrating the material. Also included in the kit is a pinless moisture psychrometer and an infrared thermometer. The energy audit kit will allow you to monitor moisture within wood and other building materials with virtually no surface damage at all. Real penetration into the material is not necessary to get an accurate measurement, which is of course necessary if you are planning on using the materials to build a structure. The infrared Extech infrared thermometer is a great way of measure surface temperature without contact. It does this through the use of a laser pointer system, which is advanced technology that Extech can now offer in a range of devices.
